Anne Marie Hamill is a talented interior designer living and working in Ireland. Hamill is the founder and owner of Hamilton Interiors, which she created in 2002. She began her foray into the world of interior design during a stay in the United States. Because Anne Marie’s visa dictated that she not work during her stay, she found she had extra time on her hands while abroad.
Although only seventeen years old at the time, Hamill was smart enough to take advantage of that time. She began to take art classes and immerse herself in the world of art and interior design. Hamill dedicated every day to learning something new about art or design. Anne Marie knew immediately that she would have a future working with art in some manner.
Upon returning to Ireland, Hamill worked as a nurse until the early 2000s. After decorating neighbors’ and friends’ houses nearly three times a week and nursing the other days, Hamill realized it was time to make the switch from nursing to full-time interior design. Hamill founded Hamilton Interiors in 2002. With a talented team of designers, Anne Marie brings her visions to life daily.
Hamill describes her approach to design as similar to her nursing approach. Anne Marie says that you frequently have to deliver tough news to clients, but you must do so gently. Hamill and the team at Hamilton Interiors focus on bespoke design that is both beautiful and functional for families. At first, Anne Marie believed that people only wanted beautiful spaces. Eventually, Hamill came to understand that people want both function and beauty, and she makes that happen.
